Babysitter needed starting January

I am looking for a babysitter/nanny to watch my 15 mo old and 3.5 year old daughters one afternoon/evening a week (prefer Wednesday or Thursday), beginning in January.  Hours would be from approximately 2:00pm to 9:30pm (this can be somewhat flexible).  More hours may be available, depending on need.  We live in NE Portland (Concordia neighborhood).  Please contact Charissa at charissar@comcast.net.  Thanks!

ACCESS alternative school for highly gifted

Does anyone have any experience, thoughts and or comments about the  ACCESS program at Sabine Elementary School.  I have a little guy who is a little different than I have ever experienced.  He is 3 1/2, and reads and loves to do addition and subtractions.  I fear he would be too disruptive in a regular Kindergarten class.  I do not know what to do with him... Ideas?

Thanks
Nilla

so conflicted... any opinions?

Hi,

Our nanny just gave notice, and I am so conflicted about sending my 15 month old twins to daycare...  do people have any opinions on sending your young children to daycare2-3 days/week? I just want them to be happy and well adjusted! Should I just stay home, as would this be better for them?  Or do you think a nanny is better than daycare?

Need help in Hollywood

I'm expecting my first baby in December and have no idea how to find fabulous, local, infant childcare. I live in the Hollywood district and am looking for something close to home. But most important, I'm looking for a place that won't just place my wee one in the corner while toddlers and older children grab all the attention.

Any suggestions, tips, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks PDX Mamas,

Mara Stine, mkstine@hotmail.com

PT Nanny needed, starting Jan. 08

Hello,

I am currently a graduate student (getting my Masters in Social Work) and will be delivering my first child in early December.  My internship will resume mid-January 08.  I will need a Nanny, who has experience with newborns, 2 to 3 times a week, for a regular 8 hour day.  We live in Vancouver, WA and would prefer that if the Nanny needs to bring her child with her that it be of close age, as our home is not baby proofed yet and I'm hoping to not have to do that earlier than I have to.  I am also not against a Nanny share situation as long as everyone gets the coverage they need.  My name is Leslie and I can be reached at lynnchun@yahoo.com  Thank you!

FT nanny available

Hello Mamas and Families!

My name is Jackie and I am interested in finding a family in need of a loving nanny.  I am a certified teacher who is taking some time off to raise my daugher who is 20 months old.  I have spent the last year nannying for a family with two children, ages 4 and 8, two days each week.  I have decided that I need to work more full time and so am looking for a family who needs someone 30-40 hours each week, and who would be open to the idea of my daugher coming along.  She is very kind and sweet and loves other children and it worked out very well with my last family.

In terms of experience, I have taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 5 years, have done loads of babysitting and K-8 tutoring (I am tutoring for 3 girls right now) and nannied for the family I mentioned above.  I also work part time at The Children's Place Bookstore and am a rep for a baby sling company (I am a big advocate for babywearing!)...my life has always revolved around children.

I love the outdoors and exploring nature, I love reading and art (my undergraduate degree was in Art History), and I love singing and creative play.  My approach in raising my own daughter is very attachment oriented.

If you are in need of a loving nanny and would like to find out more about me and my philosophy in caring for children, please email me jackielou314@yahoo.com.  Looking forward to hearing from you!
