This summer, 16 talented young artists will become filmmakers.  Working with industry pros and world class gear, they will make movies that change the world.

Registration is now open for Poject Youth Doc 2012 (PYD), and we couldn’t be more excited!  By turning the camera inward, teenage PYD participants explore issues important to their lives and the lives of other project members.  Each production team sees a project through from inception to premiere.  Past projects have focused on diverse topics such as the history of Native American Boarding Schools, flash mobs, deaf culture, and LGBTQ youth.  This year, in partnership with Mozilla (Firefox), we are adding training in cutting-edge, interactive media design utilizing technology only being offered to the a handful of  media arts programs around the country.

Space is extremely limited, so encourage the young people in your life to apply now to secure their spot!

Whiz Kid Day Camp for Children Age 7-12 years old

July 19th- 23rd 9 am to 3 pm

or

August 9th - 13th 9 am to 3 pm

Whiz Kid Day Camp is designed using the latest research and best practices for your intense child. Our campers might have a diagnosis of ADHD, PDD NOS, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, or no diagnosis at all, but are struggling with social skills delays.

We have a leader to camper ratio of one leader for every two campers. So there will be plenty of opportunities for learning, lots of supervision and positive attention that insures your child's success. We will be using the Social Learning Curriculum created by Michelle Garcia Winner to help your child to learn

  • How to think more flexibly
  • How behavior affects relationships
  • How to read social cues
  • How to control impulses that cause trouble

Each six hour day is packed with fun activities like

  • Writing and acting in a movie
  • Music and art and science fun
  • Nature Hikes
  • Games! Games! Games!

The kids have so much fun, they don't know how hard they are working!
