Waldorf-Inspired, Outdoor Summer Camp in the Forest (St. Johns/Forest Park) still has space for week of July 24-27!
July 12, 2012
Greetings All!
We have filled up all of our summer camps except for the week of July 24-27.
Humming Hive Forest Preschool welcomes children, ages 3-6 years old, to come and experience the magic of the forest for weekly summer camp programs. The school is located on the edge of Forest Park, on a hill, just across the river from St. Johns.
We have a daily rhythm that includes singing, storytelling, snacks of healthy, organic food, circle time, gardening, art and crafts, free play in the forest, rest time, and visiting the 5 friendly chickens. We provide an opportunity for your child to come and enjoy the peace of the forest, not too far from home.
Each week, we have camp Tuesday through Friday, from 9am to 2pm. We are outside all day, rain or shine (usually the sun shines through the summer!). Please visit the website, www.humminghive.org, for more information, or e-mail Ms. Christy at nwforestpreschool@gmail.com.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Summer Art Camp at Rowanberry School
The summer program at Rowanberry School was designed to provide an unhurried,
child-centered alternative to traditional children's summer camps. The daily rhythm will
include circle games and songs, a focused art component, and a wholesome organic
snack. We will allow plenty of time for lemonade making and play in the garden and tree
house. Children will have the opportunity to share their work at the end of camp.
Humming Hive Summer Camp: Come play in the forest! (Forest Park/St. Johns)
April 16, 2012
Greetings everyone!
I am pleased to announce that we will be spending the summer in the forest again, up at Humming Hive Forest Preschool!
In July and August, Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 2pm, I will be inviting children, ages 3-6 years old, to come and join me up on the hill on the edge of Forest Park, just across the river from St. Johns. We will spend our days exploring the magic of the forest, climbing trees, telling stories, singing songs, making crafts and plant medicine, eating healthy, organic snacks, gardening, meeting the friendly chickens, and more!
This is a Waldorf-inspired program, led by Ms. Christy, a Waldorf-trained teacher, and assisted by other Waldorf-inspired teachers. We will be outside for the whole day, and we will get dirty! Morning snack will be provided, and the children will need to bring their own healthy lunch.
Please visit the website, www.humminghive.org, to find more details and the registration forms. If you have any questions, please e-mail Christy at nwforestpreschool@gmail.com.
Please note: if you have older children, ages 7-9, who you wish could spend their summer in the forest in a program like this, please let me know as soon as you can. If there is enough interest, I would love to offer a camp for older children for at least a few weeks this summer. Older children would be able to explore farther into the forest, learn different kinds of forest skills, and also enjoy the gardening, stories, songs, art, and crafts. Please do express which weeks of July or August you would be interested in.
