Endorsements are Everywhere: Where do YOU Turn?
I picked up a slew of endorsement write-ups late last week. There are loads of them - a godsend for many of us. Where do you turn? To one? Many? Or do you actually make up your own mind??!! I fancy that I decide for myself, but I sure check in with a bunch of endorsers - especially when I'm doing the last-minute voting thing. These devoted (and often paid) folks do loads of research and interviewing that digs far deeper than I have the time (or inclination) for.
I've yet to come across one that perfectly mirrors my beliefs (sigh, we Activistas have too little time and are no Political Action Committee). But we do have enough "free" time to at least compile a list of the ones that matter to us - sort of a one-stop online endorsement shop for, uh, progressive parents. Did we miss your fave?? If so, add it in the comments. Is there one that best captures the family-friendly angle?? Aside from my unfinished ballot, that is?? Here's what we threw together - help us by adding your trusted sources in the comments:

I think it's important to note about some of the organizations listed above, that just because they don't endorse or green light a candidate, does not mean that candidate does not have those ideals.
I can think of many cases, past and present, where a candidate was ignored, or even worse, simply because an organization felt loyalty to a candidate for various reasons or because that organization felt another candidate had a better chance at winning. In some cases the candidate endorsed reflects the values even less so than the candidate not endorsed (the situations I know of in this case involved environmental organizations).
So, while organization endorsements are important, they are also not perfect.
As far as organizations to add to the list, I think Planned Parenthood and NOW should be added.
